October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and to show support, the MAA Wild Team donned pink tape on their skates and their sticks.

Teammates Harleigh Baker (D) and Saige Pedis (F) took their support one step further and cut their pony tails to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

Proctor & Gamble in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society launched the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program in 2007.  Thanks to thousands of Canadians including these 2 MAA Wild players, over 70,000 pony tails have been donated to make wigs for people living with cancer.

With only three returning players, the coaching staff took some time to name the MAA Leadership team. After two months of practice, teambuilding, exhibition and league games, as well as one tournament, the coaching staff saw leadership emerge from all players.  Three players in particular demonstrated what MAA Wild coach Chris Baker felt would help lead this team to success on and off the ice. Veteran, Aly Morris from Trenton, ON was named Captain and Sarah Samis from Cobourg along with Aleah Balas from Brooklin, ON were named Assistants.
