Letter to WNGHA Families
Hello Wild families,

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we all navigate through these unprecedented times. Hockey is back, but there are new protocols and guidelines in place to ensure we are still able to provide hockey programming in a safe and positive environment.

There are new protocols and guidelines in place at each of the local facilities we use in order to ensure the health and safety of our members as well as facility staff. We will be communicating the new procedures to coaches and membership within the next few days.

We will begin the year with a pre-season development program starting in October. Each ice session will cost $10 and will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis due to facility capacity guidelines in place. Multiple ice times will be made available for each age group in order to ensure everyone is able to attend. Dates, times, and registration links will be posted on our website in the coming days.

Once the development program has been completed, girls will be divided into 20 player teams based on skill where they will be able to practice together and participate in 4 on 4 hockey. From here, our registration will open for the 2020/2021 season our fee structure and cost breakdown will be released soon.

The health and safety of our members will always remain at the forefront when considering any decisions made this season. The 2020/2021 season will focus on fun, positivity, and skill development this year. Any games will follow the new OWHA guidelines with respect to 4 on 4 and physical distancing rules. We have been in contact with other OWHA member associations to look into the possibility of 4 on 4 games with teams located within our Public Health Unit (Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit).

Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we navigate and plan for the upcoming hockey season. If you do have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. We are extremely excited to be gearing up to head back on the ice for a 2020/2021 season! A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping to put this season together. Countless hours have been put in working with local facilities and governing bodies in order to allow us back on the ice this season.

Thank you,

WNGHA Executive
