2015/2016 Rep Banquet
The West Northumberland Wild wrapped up their 2015 - 2016 season with their annual rep banquet on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Cobourg Lion’s Community Centre, to honour their players and teams from this past season. Representatives from all seven Wild rep teams attended for the dinner and awards ceremony.

After dinner, each coach presented their team on stage and highlighted their team’s season.  Each team presented awards for Most Improved, Most Sportsmanlike, Perseverance and Most Outstanding Player.

Three scholarships were also presented, as donated by Sportacular Events (Kim and Gary Parkinson). The scholarship program recognizes and rewards commitment to hockey, community and education. The program provides financial assistance to members of the Wild for their post-secondary education. The scholarship  rewards outstanding young women who excel in the arena and the classroom and exhibit qualities of leadership and community.  The recipients are determined based on their hockey and academic achievements as well as their community involvement.  This year’s winners were Mackenzie Jenkins, Sammy Nadeau and Riana Keeling.

Finally, the first annual Grace Bowen Perseverance Award was presented to Olivia Walker.  This award was presented to a West Northumberland girl who most closely represents Grace Bowen and her unique beauty; her kind, thoughtful, and generous personality; a person who exemplifies Grace and her perseverance.

To wrap up the banquet, a photo collage of each team’s season was shown.  Peewee BB players Asia Campbell and Mackenzie Mamers thanked all of the parents, coaches and players for a great season.

The West Northumberland Wild Girls Hockey Association would like to thank all of their sponsors for a great season, namely: Ontario Line Clearing and Tree Services, Spoolon Manufacturing Ltd., Sommerville’s, Coretek, Behan Construction, Quantrill Chevrolet Buick GMS Cadillac Ltd., Sportacular Evens, Dodge Caravan Kids, Cameco, Cobourg Firefighters, McDonald's, Lakeshore Dental, Menchies, Play It Again Sports, Cobourg Legion, Acme Electric, Yorkie’s BBQ and Mouncey Construction.

Wild rep teams for the 2016 - 2017 season have now been chosen.  The Wild House League program starts in early fall.

Special thanks goes out to Veronica Marriott for organizing the 2015/2016 Rep Banquet this year.
