WNGHA Midget “AA” Coaching Statement
We believe everyone involved with the hockey team has to have fun and it is our responsibility to create an atmosphere that will provide a
lifetime of enjoyment, friendship and physical fitness through the hockey season experience. As coaches we encourage the players to want to represent
their team, themselves and the West Northumberland Girls Hockey Association with pride, dignity and class. We believe happiness is the key to success in any sport and enthusiasm cannot be taught it has to be caught.
Our coaching philosophy stresses the importance of accountability, responsibility, team unity, discipline, mental toughness, self-confidence, sportsmanship, and a desire to compete. Our goal is to guide and infuse a player's passion with a strong foundation of skills through up-tempo disciplined practices. Our number one responsibility to the players is to grow their love of the game and you do that by treating them properly, creating a demanding, supportive atmosphere that allows for individual growth. Our main goal is to develop great people as well as skilled players while having fun. We believe it is important to be positive, challenging, and most of all have fun. After all that's what keeps the players coming back and trying harder. We will "Play Hard, Play Smart, and Play as a TEAM".
