West Northumberland MAA wins Inaugural Cob Cup
The West Northumberland Wild MAA travelled to the Hamilton College Showcase on October 13-14.

On Saturday morning the Wild beat the Valley Eagles 2-0 and then went onto a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Boston Shamrocks.

Sunday found the Wild play in the historic Sage Rink (the oldest operating indoor collegiate rink in the US) against their frenemies, the St. Catharines Junior Brock Badgers for the Cob Cup.   They Badgers led the scoring with a goal by Abbey P., that went unanswered by the end of the second period.    Mid-way into the third, the Wild answered that goal and raised the Badgers by 1 with goals by Eden C. and Maddy Y.  With 4:14 left to go, the Badgers battled hard, including a 6 on 5 for the last 1:30 of the third, but the Wild held on for the 2-1 victory and winning the Cob Cup.

The Badgers and Wild look forward to their next match up in tournaments later this year.
