Peewee A Welcome Letter
Submitted By Ryan Smith on Thursday, April 5, 2018
Dear Hockey Fans!

I would like to say how honoured and excited I am to be chosen as the head coach for the WILD Peewee Rep team for the 2018/2019 season.  My love for hockey started at the young age of 4 and I have been involved with hockey ever since.  As the co-owner of Ritchie Contracting I have experience with running a crew, staying organized, crushing goals and helping others crush theirs.

I have been on the coaching staff of several WILD teams throughout the years and I have worked with many amazing coaches.  Throughout those years, I have taken notes, I have taken courses, I have asked questions and observed coaching styles that I have learned to adopt and others that I have let go.  I have also been on the bench in girl’s softball as well.  I have learned a lot about girls and sports over the years.  I believe that any group of girls can turn into a winning team if they learn to work together, build a strong team bond and are willing to work hard for themselves and each other.

My goals for the year 2018/2019 are to develop the players on a personal and team levels.  It will be a team goal to become a strong competitive team.  I will provide them with a fun, challenging and educational atmosphere.  It is also important for me to put them in a position to conquer their goals, so assigning the team to the proper division for their caliber of hockey is an important step for success.

It is important for me that our team to be active in the community.  Together, at the beginning of the year we will decide as a team what charity our time and efforts will be focused on.  This is important for me because we are not just raising hockey players, but strong, successful young ladies.

I am open to discussing my future plans with anyone that has questions, I would also like to say that I accept and encourage new ideas and advise from parents and any other community member that has positive goals for our girls.  I hope to see new and old faces at the first tryout on Wed April 18 2018 at 7pm.  At the CCC, Pond side.

TIME TO BRING YOUR BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach Joe Ritchie
